I love the comfort of the Bible. Completely new things reach out from each reading, thoughts, prayers, thanks; each taking me somewhere, then bringing me back. 'In the beginning God.....'; all the rest, all of life, flowing from His beginning. From first flows to now, can a waterway, say the Chesapeake Bay, still carry on its 1500 hundred mile course at least some of the essence of the great start? Yes it can. HE crowned the Chesapeake Bay. The Bible is fully Captain of the Bay.
Just how many promises made true from lessons learned on and from the Chesapeake Bay? Starting with people, then learning the value of things. Nothing big, necessarily, but things rendered with satisfaction, like inner peace, confidence, self renewal. Being near the Bay, starting somewhere, sensing its length, crossing it, back and forth, always hoping to return safe. Return and return, like HIS word: Then David said, "This is the house of the Lord God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel."
HIS word, the comfort of his truth. Pick PSALMS, half way along the Bible; where we hear, I was glad when they said to me, "Let us go into the house of the Lord". Journey journey with HIS word, all through the book. 'SAIL ON AND PRAY'. Hit and miss. Go to ISAIAH but not JEREMIAH, then next to EZEKIEL, from there to MATTHEW, MARK, LUKE and JOHN.
Looking to the only way. Finding all comfort, from the going out until your return. Forever, all along the Chesapeake Bay. From beginning until HIS REVELATION, HIS comfort abides. 'The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.'
