Hello Blog
It's been a while since we've communicated. Time makes for changes; much though, the truly important things are, thankfully, are still in place.
The HOLY BIBLE is still with us, fact is, stronger than ever. The Good Book's teachings, the words of our LORD, from GENESIS to REVELATION, stir in our hearts and minds, like a Great Blue Heron, moving about, looking for a meal along a muddy shoreline in southern Chesapeake Bay.
The Chesapeake Bay remains a constant. The Bay's stubborn flow, north to south, is a real sure thing. Few gifts can offer more comfort. In a way it's like the Bible in its consistency. Add the soothing flow of streaming waters, a ripple here, a capping wave there; and the more things seem to change, the more they remain the same; like the Word and its life-giving 'waters' that sustain us. I love 'The Book', it's my Bible by the Bay. The Book, the waters, the harmony.
The weather on the Bay rolls-in from the west. I don't have to tell you that wind directions and water temperatures change season to season, that happens all along North America's east coast. The changes make the Bay, in particular, a meteorological marvel. It's as if the Lord said, 'I'm going to give y'all an extra special gift'.
As kids, in Sunday school on the shore, we heard a story that ran like this: 'Christ came to what is now North America; he walked the shores of the Chesapeake'. It wasn't a hard story to want to believe, as a child; for my sensibilities, it isn't a story hard to believe now. It's a soothing tale, real or not. It's a tale we, here on the Bay, can boost about. It's not too fanciful to believe that Christ, himself, crowned the Chesapeake Bay the largest, grandest bay in the world.
This year we want to take you with us along the 2026 Chesapeake Bay. The waterway is still the economic and environmental 'straw' that funnels much of Maryland's future. Change, as everything must, but the more the Chesapeake evolves, the more it splashes in our conscious reality with each day that passes. Items: There's talk of a new Chesapeake Bay Bridge. There are ongoing controversies, both about restrictions, and expansions (at the same time) about residential development along the waterway. Some state leaders want to redraw Maryland's Congressional District(s) map (creating an 8 to 0 one party knockout). And of course, the global warming, climax change, debate rages on. The only thing that might end that debate will probably be the promised-made-a-reality return of the Lord himself.
We'll try to generate some revenue this year; we'll do it by offering you opportunities to do the same. We'll all benefit, why shouldn't we? We won't mix the Bay, the Bible, and money just for the sake of a dollar. Remember our Lord never had a problem about money; his problem was just about what some people do with His financial bounty. We'll use was His gifts to glorify His holy name.
The Bay is a wonderful gift; your Bible alongside makes it an even better gift - the best. 'Who could ask for anything more'.
Talk to you again next time.
